Founder & Co-Chairman, Orci
Hector Orci is known for the key role he played in bringing the Hispanic Market to the attention of American business in the early 80’s, for his leadership in the creation of the Hispanic Marketing Industry, serving as founding chairman of the trade organization AHAA (now CMC), now over 20 years old and going strong, for the outstanding results he’s generated for his clients, and for his work in the Latino community.
His contributions go beyond pioneering Hispanic marketing.
Hector’s vision and his personal mission have been to integrate Latinos into the national mainstream. He understands that that the successful assimilation of immigrant communities into the American identity has been key to the success of our American experiment. He has dedicated his career to promoting a smarter, more inclusive business community, and a stronger, more diverse national community.
This is why Hector has enthusiastically supported the AAF‘s mission to bring diversity and inclusion to the advertising industry. He served on the AAF board for over 20 years, and had the honor of working with David Bell and many other outstanding leaders.
Hector was the founding Chairman of the AAF’s Mosaic Council and recruited diverse talent to our Industry… Through the AEF Ambassador Program, talking to college students across the country about the joys of advertising… And through a one-of-its-kind multicultural marketing course he started and taught at UCLA for 18 years.
He impacts the lives of coming generations by co-founding not-for-profit charter schools. And he has been hosting advertising day at the agency for young students since 2006
For Orci, he designed a rigorous training program. Today there are hundreds of Orci alumni, lovingly called “exOrcistas”, working on the client side, in general market agencies and in Hispanic marketing. All of them spread diversity throughout American business and make it stronger.
Hector has had an especially meaningful impact on our Industry through mentoring scores of professionals He has helped students, agency staffers, clients, other agency leaders, colleagues and entrepreneurs. Many serving today in positions of influence throughout the Industry. And multiplying the effect of his vision… moving his mission forward.
One of Hector’s greatest achievements is that his work has helped Latinos recognize themselves as an integral part of a thriving American community. This makes our country stronger, and the world a better place.
